Steve Pike is a small business owner who can identify with those who have taken a lot of hard knocks on the way up. He started his working career in 1988 and spent 10 years in the construction industry where he excelled, working up to assistant superintendant. By the age of 27 he had as many as 40 men under his direction and was directly responsible for his craft budgets and project time lines. After he was treated for heat related illness several times in succession, he was forced to change careers due to health concerns. Steve started his IT consulting practice in 2007 after working in the IT industry for many years. One of the companies that Steve worked for was near bankruptcy and having trouble making payroll Steve helped save the business by building a profitable business model using his coaching and mentorship skills. Through the years, he has helped many small and medium-sized businesses utilize their technology in a fashion that meets their individual needs. Steve brings the philosophy of “sell what they need not what you want to sell” to his own consulting practice. He has the ability to translate geek to English. He has made many great relationships in the industry and knows a host of consultants and IT solution providers that he readily refers his clients.
Steve’s passion, though, is teaching! He says, “I have wanted to teach my whole life, and I thought I would never get to.” Pike started his coaching practice to satisfy his desire for helping people. He has acted as a mentor since 1992 and is active in many volunteer projects. Steve has the heart of a teacher and the ability to guide people to discover things about themselves that many times go unidentified. Through a method of personal inventory, spiritual gifts profiles, personality profiles, and one-to-one and small group coaching, Steve is able to find his “meaningful” work.
Steve lives in Beach City, Texas with his wife Carla. He loves spending time with friends and family, playing guitar and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
